Windows 10: From windows 11 home to pro 0x80070490

So, I've bought a windows 11 pro key to upgrade from the home version. When I enter the key, I see it load till 9% or so and skips to a "unable to upgrade your edition"And tells me I can try through the store to buy a authentic version of windows.

I am trying to upgrade Windows 11 Home to Windows 11 Pro, but the upgrade failed (0x80070490).

Thank you John, entering this generic product code fixed my system too.

I was upgrading a new Win 11 Home PC to Win 11 Pro from the Microsoft store.

During the install I also got the 0x80070490 error. After a reboot I had Windows 11 Enterprise installed and said it was Activated??? The next day Microsoft must have detected their error and deactivated my system. Still showed Win 11 Enterprise.

Tried the suggested generic product code and a few reboots later I still see Win 11 Pro is activated.

Seems too good to be true...

Ich hatte das gleiche Problem.

Ich hatte einen ganz neuen Acer Laptop und wollte über System/Aktivierung von Windows 11 Home auf Windows 11 Pro Upgraden. Es kam auch der Fehler 0x80070490. Im Aktivierungsbildschirm wurde dann auch Windows 11 Enterprise angezeigt und mein Laptop war nicht mehr aktiviert.

Ich gab ihren generic product code ein und startete den Laptop neu und ich hatte Windows 11 Pro und er war aktiviert.
