Windows 10: Frozen "Choose an Option" screen

For the past week I have been trying to access the BIOS in my computer to change a setting, to solve a problem I am having with the Acronis Cyber Protect Home backup program. I have never done this before in the year I've owned the computer. The setting change has been recommended by Acronis support. It's a Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 5-27IMB05 desktop running Windows 10.When I use the recommended procedure Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Restart Now >, the computer does reboot to the blue screen titled Choose an Option, with the four options sh

To address your concern, we suggest that you run the Windows Startup repair using the Windows 10 installation media (if you don't have one, click on this

link). To do that, follow these steps:

• Connect the recovery drive and turn on your PC.
• On the Choose an option screen, select Troubleshoot, and then select an option. If you don’t see the Choose your option screen, your PC might not be set up to boot from a drive. Check your PC manufacturer’s
  website for info on how to change your PC’s boot order.
• Click on Advanced options and click on
  Startup Repair or Automatic Repair.

If still the issue persists, choose the System Restore option.
This option takes your PC back to an earlier point in time, called a system restore point.
Restoring won’t affect your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made.

I understand your surface screen is frozen. In this case, I would suggest you to hard restart the tablet by pressing and holding the power button and restart the tablet. Check if the issue persists.

If the issue still exists, I would suggest you to try the following methods and check if the issue persists.

Method 1:

Try to run a System File Checker (SFC) scan to check for any file corruption.
SFC scan will scan for corrupt system files on the computer and repair them.

• Press Windows key + X, click Command Prompt (Admin).
• In the Command Prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
  
  sfc /scannow

If the issue still exists, try the next method.

Method 2:

You may check the same issue with the new user account.

Try these steps to create a new user account and check if it fixes the issue. Refer to the steps below to create a new User Account:

• Go to Settings.
• Choose Accounts and then select Other User Accounts towards the left.
• Select Add an Account.
• Enter a user name and hit Next.
• Click on Finish.
• Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
• Check if issue persists.

Let's get to Advanced startup and see if it will make a difference. To do this, follow these steps:

• Force restart your computer while holding down the Shift button.
• After your PC restarts to the Choose an option screen, select
  Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup
  Repair.
