Windows 10: Frozen on blue choose screen

My hp laptop started a system update on its own this am. When I went to sign in a blue screen came upthat was partially chopped off asking me to choose is I want to keep signing in with can’t see or fingerprint. Neither option worked when I clicked on it. I turned computer off/on but no change. Why is HPs own system attacking itself??? Please help.

Frozen "Choose an Option" screen

For the past week I have been trying to access the BIOS in my computer to change a setting, to solve a problem I am having with the Acronis Cyber Protect Home backup program. (I have never done this before in the year I've owned the computer. The setting change has been recommended by Acronis support.) It's a Lenovo Ideacentre AIO 5-27IMB05 desktop running Windows 10.

When I use the recommended procedure (Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Advanced Startup > Restart Now >), the computer does reboot to the blue screen titled Choose an Option, with the four options shown: Continue, Use a Device, Troubleshoot, Turn Off Your PC. But the screen is frozen, and I cannot use the cursor or any keys to unfreeze it. In fact, the only way to get out of the freeze is to unplug the computer entirely. Can anyone suggest a fix?
