Windows 10: Frozen on getting devices ready fresh windows 10 install

Hi,I've been trying to reinstall windows 10 on my dell laptop after it crashed and failed to recover properly and wouldn't boot into windows properly. I'm reinstalling windows 10 using windows 10 installation media on a usb stick. I've been following this guide on how to do a fresh install. Clean Install Windows 10 & 11 2024After reinstalling and getting prompted to restart. After restarting my computer freezes on the getting devices ready during the windows 10 post installation steps. I've unplugged everything from my laptop except the power cord and the usb stick.Sincerely,Jonathan Mar

Fresh USB Windows 10 Install - Failing

I am trying to install a fresh copy (reformatted the hard disk) of windows 10 using a USB

• Created an installation media on a USB flash drive (Win 10 pro) from this page Download Windows 10
• Changed the boot order on the other PC so that it boots using USB
• Selected custom install
• Installing Windows goes through the following steps successfully: Copying Windows Files, Getting Files ready for installation, Installing features, Installing updates and before the last step (Finishing up), it restarts
• Then it goes back to the start of the installation steps

I am stuck and have read numerous posts but don't know what to do to install a fresh copy of Win 10.

 

Windows 10 Fresh Install stuck at "Getting Devices Ready"

My old desktop has happily run Windows 10 for a couple of years but recently booting became problematic and after running the repair tool and checking the HDD it became apparent that I needed a new HDD, which I duly installed. I downloaded the Media Creation
Tool to my spare laptop and burned an ISO DVD for a new Windows 10 installation, and used that with my desktop. All went well until the install failed towards the end with a frozen screen and the message "Getting Devices Ready 42%". And nothing. I've tried
rebooting, accessing the repair tool via the installation disk (via the repair option). Nothing works. Now what? I'm completely stuck.
