Windows 10: Frustrated with forced Windows Update.

I am so tired of forced updates in Windows 10. They are seriously eating up my hard drive space. Since my original laptop died I have had to use one my mom had, an HP Stream. Not a very good laptop and one with a tiny hard drive (27.8gb after OS install). I have watched my hard drive shrink more and more after having to update. It honestly stresses me out. I install a new, larger one but it is soldered onto the motherboard. It doesn't help that several gb of hard drive space is taken up by apps I can't/don't use but can't delete like Windows Word and it's affiliate programs.

Windows Updates failed to instal

I just did step one and they have just all installed.... thank you so much.... it was quite frustrating having that update window pop up every 5 minutes and failing to instal every time

^This, then reboot and go to manually update windows. Find KB3035583 in the list of available updates, right-click and "Hide this update" so it doesn't get installed again next go around.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.
