Windows 10: FSX.CFG

Hi, how can I download the FSX.CFG file in steam / FSX? it cannot be seen in the Roeming / appdata / microsoft folder. p.scholler Netherlands

Sorry to read that you were still not able to get FSX-SE going. I assumed you had both FSX and SE since you mentioned "I made FSX and FSX-SE folders in.......". So my suggestions were for FSX only,
though I would think that SE would not be much different.

So you did create a blank page (in Notepad) entitled fsx.CFG and put it in this location: ....Roaming\Microsoft? And this action did not prompt the file to be written when you started the Sim?

So I can't suggest anything else to you, except that I have sent a copy of my fsx.CFG to this One Drive link: (removed).

You could download it and copy it to that location (of course changing appropriate details, e.g. display driver, etc. that would be different to yours) and see whether this action would prompt FSX-SE to
re-write to it. Hope this helps.

 

Help with air traffic control window in flight simulator x

Three things that you can try first:

1. Update your video card drivers from their website (do a clean install if possible but you will lose any special settings for FSX - don't worry about modifying the card's settings at this stage).

2. Delete your fsx.CFG (a new one will be created when you restart FSX, but you will lose your Trusted list and specially mapped keys, etc.).

3. After a new fsx.CFG is created, shut FSX down and go back into fsx.CFG and insert HIGHMEMFIX=1 after your last entry in your [GRAPHICS] section.

Now start FSX and see if the problem is still there.

I have a stand alone PC (just one user, local HDD, no groups) recently updated from XP to Windows 7.



I just bought the FSX Steam Edition and I installed in my PC. During installation I did not receive any error messages. I tried to run the FSX and I got the message Flight Simulator cannot run because it could not write FSX.CFG.



I install - uninstall the application several times without success.



I upgrade the Windows from 7 to 10 version.

During above installations-windows upgrade I did not receive any error messages



I did all above installations (Windows and FSX) with default settings without changing or modify anything.



I tried to do most of the tips that I found to internet without success.



At last but not least, I bought a Microsoft OS and a Microsoft game which theoretically means 100% compatibility. I spent several hours trying to make folders here and there, trying to check software authorizations according to the guidelines i found
in the community unsuccessfully. For God shake, it is just a software installation!



Since I have no alternative, I am waiting for your guidelines to resolve this problem.
