Windows 10: FTDI driver - help ?

Hi anyone able to help me out in talking me thru the installing of a suitable driver for my Dell Optiplex 7010 pc running windows 10 pro. ( Windows - 20H2 ) When I plug my usb cable into my pc and check under device manager it comes up marked as usb serial port with the yellow warning triangle. Says no driver installed for this device . Tried getting windows to automatically search for it within updates but nothing found.

So looking around the net found a link to the FTDI website where I downloaded the cdm 2.12.28 driver zip to my downloads folder. Once unzipped I have a folder named amd64 with dll etc files within.
If I go back into device manager and try install the driver automatically by pointing it to admin/ downloads/amd64 it comes up as nothing found. Guessing I need to point it to something within this amd64 folder ?

Bit out my depth with all this so any help would be so much appreciated !

Need support for signing the Custom FTDI CDM Driver in order to install it in Windows 10

Hi Team,

FTDI CDM Driver is a windows supported open source driver. We installed the FTDI Driver version 2.12.28 by downloading it from Future Technology Devices International Ltd - FTDI. And the driver was successfully installed in Windows 10 Operating System.

FTDI also provides library files which can be customized and installed in our Windows OS. So we created a new customized FTDI Driver based on the version 2.12.28. When we tried to install this customized driver, installation fails in Win10 but installed
successfully in Win7.

When we analyzed on this issue we came to know to that the new customized driver has to signed in order to get installed in Win10. When we contacted FTDI Support team on this, we got a response stating that Microsoft has the reselling authority of FTDI
Drivers and advised us to contact Microsoft on this regard.

As we couldn't find any straight forward procedure to get the custom FTDI driver signed, we are raising this ticket to get the required help on this.

So we hereby request you to help us to get our custom FTDI CDM Driver signed so that it could be installed in Win10.

 

GSOD when plug in USB device using FTDI drivers

When I plug in a device via USB the WIN10 OS immediately generates stopcode error: NOMORE_IRP_STACK_LOCATIONS (green screen) and machine reboots or freezes.

WIN10 Pro x64, OS Insider build 19631, release 200514_1410. Driver installations of course don't appear in the device manager Ports or USB Controller lines because they are never installed.

The device is designed to use FTDI drivers only. Other USB connected devices that work with Microsoft drivers install and operate correctly.

Any suggestions on how to resolve this problem?
