  1. FTP installed as part of IIS on Windows Server 2022 does not seem to support TLS 1.3

Hi, I have upgraded several servers to Windows Server 2022, and installed some from scratch. For all it seems as if the FTP service installed as part of the IIS on Windows Server 2022 does not support TLS 1.3.The maximum version I can get working is TLS 1.2.Do anyone know if, specifically the FTP service is supported running TLS 1.3?All documentation I have been able to find regarding Windows Server 2022 only states that it supports TLS 1.3 - I assumed that would include the roles possible to install on the server too...I have tried to disable all other protocols on the server, as well as setti

  2. FTP Access IIS

    Hi

I set up an FTP site using IIS to share files within my LAN. I have created a new user on the same PC as FTP site but when i try to access FTP folder from any device on the LAN using username and password of
my new user it refuses to let me in showing the following: Could not log in to the FTP server with the username and password specified.

Steps that I have gone through when setting up FTP:

    • Created ftp folder and set up FTP server
    • specified path to the folder
    • did not use SSL
    • specified IP
    • Created new windows user and added this user to FTP authorisation Rules
    • Excluded FTP from firewall
    • Allowed new user access to the folder itself
Tried to access using both file directory and internet explorer

Did not enable port triggering in the router as was only planning to use FTP locally

I would highly appreciate your help

    Microsoft Edge TLS Security

After trying everything (not a lot of steps) listed in the Microsoft Edge support site, I did a wider search and found this very simple youtube video that fixed it immediately:

For those who prefer not to click links the steps are simple:

    1. Click in the Cortana search bar next to the Win 10 Start button

    2. Type internet options

    3. Select internet options (control panel) from the list

    4. Click on the advanced tab

    5. Scroll down to the security section

    6. Make sure the following are all clicked:
    Use SSL 3.0
    Use TLS 1.0
    Use TLS 1.1
    Use TLS 1.2

    7. Click apply

    8. Refresh the page that was giving the error and it should now connect.

Hope this helps, it was a 30 second fix after hours of pounding my head against the error with the Support site suggestions.

FTP installed as part of IIS on Windows Server 2022 does not seem to support TLS 1.3

Connecting to FTP Windows 10 FTP server

    Total newb here.

Trying to set up a file server in Windows 10. I've set up IIS services (FTP service, FTP extensibility, and IIS management console). I created a test site with a physical path to a local folder. I set up a port forward (21) with xFinity (they say my server doesn't need a static IP address).

I want the server to be accessible from the internet and since apparently the major browsers have disabled ftp support, I've tried connecting with Cute FTP and Filezilla by using the server's public IP address, user name and password. Both just time out. I need to know where to start troubleshooting this.

    Thank you for any help,
