  1. fTPM on new processor 1300X to 4500

Hello Guys,I got myself a little upgrade yesterday to my PC to play one of the games more smoothly.I used to have Ryzen 3 1300X and I got Ryzen 5 4500. Since I installed new CPU I'm getting constant notifications about fTPM on boot. To be honest I can't remember if fTPM was enabled on 1300X I think it wasn't as Microsoft didn't support that veriosn of TPMBIOS was upgraded before installing new CPU and it worked fine with old 1300X.Bitlocker is not enabled on Windows 11. Secure boot is not turned on. My specs are:MOBO: Asus ROG B450-F GamingCPU: Ryzen 5 4500RAM: Corsair 16GB 2133 mH

New CPU installed, fTPM/PSP NV corrupted or fTPM/PSP NV structure changed (NO NEW CPU INSTALLED)

I understand that you're facing a concerning issue with your Asus Strix G15 laptop. The message you're receiving seems related to the Trusted Platform Module (fTPM) or Platform Security Processor (PSP), and it's asking you to reset fTPM due to a perceived change in CPU or corrupted structure.

Here are some steps you can consider:

    1. Contact Asus Support:
      • Since your laptop is relatively new and likely under warranty, reaching out to Asus support is a good first step. They may have encountered this issue before and can provide specific guidance tailored to your laptop model.
    2. Check for BIOS/UEFI Update:
      • Visit the Asus support website for your laptop model and check if there are any BIOS or UEFI updates available. If so, consider updating the BIOS as it might contain fixes for such issues.
    3. Press 'Y' to Reset fTPM:
      • Some users have reported that pressing 'Y' to reset fTPM resolved the issue for them. However, this might impact BitLocker or encryption settings, so proceed with caution. If you don't use BitLocker or encryption, this might be a viable option.
    4. Verify BitLocker and Encryption Settings:
      • Even if you think you don't have BitLocker enabled, it's worth double-checking. Go to Control Panel > BitLocker Drive Encryption and verify the status of your drives. If it's not enabled, this might not be the root cause.
    5. Check for Windows Updates:
      • Ensure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date. Sometimes, Microsoft releases updates that address compatibility issues with certain hardware configurations.
    6. Perform a Clean Windows Install:
      • If the issue persists and you've exhausted other options, you might consider performing a clean Windows install. This can help rule out software-related issues.
    7. Backup Important Data:
      • Before making significant changes, ensure that you have a backup of your important data. If you need to perform a clean install, you may lose data on the system drive.
Remember, if you're not comfortable performing certain steps, it's advisable to wait for guidance from Asus support or seek help from a professional technician to avoid potential data loss or further complications. As you've already reached out to Asus, they should be able to provide more specific assistance based on the details of your laptop's configuration.

New CPU installed. FTPM/PSP NV corrupted or FTPM/PSP NV structure changed

Hi, I am Dave, I will help you with this.

If you do not have your drive encrypted with Bitlocker and you reset the fTPM keys to factory, then you have performed the correct steps, that is a necessary operation when your replace a processor and rest assured, that will not cause any problem on your system in the future.

AMD Processor for WIN 11 - Specs list AMD Ryzen 3 1300X Quad-core

    Hello DavidFiedler3,

Good day! I'm John and I'll be happy to assist you today. I know this has been difficult for you, Rest assured, I'm going to do my best to help you.

I'm sorry, you are viewing the wrong list. That is for Windows 10 and not for Windows 11. Ryzen 3 1300X is not on the list of Windows 11 supported AMD processors.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardwa...

Please check the article below. This is to meet Microsoft principles about security and reliability.

    https://blogs.windows.com/windows-insider/2021/...

There has been no new announcement from Microsoft yet if they plan to add more processors to the list. I recommend reaching out to your Original Equipment Manufacturer as they will be able to provide you with information regarding any options you may have for upgrading your device's current processor.

You may need to consider using Windows 10 as it continues to be a great version of Windows. Microsoft is committed to supporting Windows 10 through October 14, 2025.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Kind regards,
