Windows 10: Full format, reinstalled Windows 11 Education N upgraded from Win10 Edu N. Product key was...

tl;dr: reinstalled a win11 edu n pc, thought key was already saved on my microsoft account. Tried signing in and couldn't, now stuck without a key that I should still have the rights to. Before I formated, I tried to check my product key but the settings page said that it was tied to my personal Microsoft account and I figured that I am all clear to reinstall. Windows 10 Education N product key problem

I have a product key for "Windows 10 Education N (Multilanguage) 1703" and I can't find my DVD. But I found "Windows 10 Education (Multilanguage) 1703" (not N) iso and installed it. Now it is not
accepting my product key. Is this normal? If yes, how can I download "Windows 10 Education N (Multilanguage) 1703"? Do I have to download version 1703 or my product key works with newer versions (1706 1803 etc.)?

 

Upgrade Windows 10 Home (non-N) to Education N?

I've clicked myself an Education version key from my university's MSDN-AA Dreamspark Imagine platform. My regular Windows is an OEM key upgrade from Windows 8, non-N; the uni only offers N versions.

Trying to enter the key via activation leading to the product key change dialog yields error 0xC004F050; from what I can tell, it seems to think it's an invalid key.

Is this because I'm trying to upgrade from a non-N version? And regardless of cause, how should I proceed to have the Education version on my device?

Hi,

i have an Zotac Computer with an Windows 10 Home N Version.

I have to ability to Upgrade to Windows 10 Edu through our University Contracts. But if i want to change the Product Number to the Edu License Key, Windows says the key is not valid.

Are the other possibilities to change the product key? I installed complety new and my computer is immediat activated with the home license. The key comes from our Edu Campus-Contract-Partner.
