Windows 10: Fwpuclnt.dll error 0xc0000020

Hello!


I haven’t use my computer for a few weeks and when I turned it on, I am getting the Fwpuclnt.dll bad image error status 0x000020.


I tried running DISM..../restorehealth and it stops at 52% with Error 4448. I also tried sfc /scannow and it stops at 36% - I tried it three times in a row. It says it could not perform the requested operation.

I’m unable to run windows update and it won’t let me roll back to a previous version because it says it’s been more than 10 days.


My computer is connected to the wifi just fine and I was able to update and run a game through the standalone GOG Galaxy, but I cannot visit any websites at all with Firefox or Microsoft Edge, so I can’t download or run a windows update that way either. I found the Fwpuclnt.dll file in a System 32 folder and the “date modified” is 3/11/2021, but I haven’t used my computer since before then, so it must have been while it was running without being used.


Thanks for any help you can give! I’d prefer not to have to reformat.
