Windows 10: G-Sync laptop - How do I turn on G-Sync?

Hi,

I have a new laptop with G-Sync but I cannot see anywhere in the Nvidia Control Panel where I can turn this feature on or off...

Some older tutorials point to a Display option in the Nvidia Control Panel but I only have the 3D Settings option...

So how do I see the G-Sync status and how do I change it?

Pressing the letter G open Game bar

Since upgrading to Windows 10, sometimes I have an issue where I can't type "g." When I press the "g" key, something called a "Game Bar" pops up. I looked online for a way to turn off the Game Bar, so I did that. But I still can't
type "g" at all. The only way I know how to fix this is to restart my laptop, but it's very inconvenient to do this every time.

Most of the time, when I start up my laptop, there are no issues with typing "g." This issue shows up randomly. Can someone please help? It's very annoying pasting the letter "g" every time I need to type it.

Odd "g" key behavior on Windows 10

I have had the same problem on a desktop PC and it is definitely Game Mode that is the culprit. It seems that the hooks you have put in to capture the Win+G key for Game Mode are not working properly and interfere with normal operation of the G key (lower
case).

I have found that holding shift and pressing G gives me a capital G, but lower case does not work unless faffing around with Win+G as suggested by OP.

Strangely I have a fully up-to-date i7 laptop that does not have any trace of Xbox, nor game mode.

Why has windows 10 hijacked the G key for a Game Mode that I will never use? Tell me how to completely remove game mode and anything to do with Xbox.
