Windows 10: Game Bar notification issue

notification xbox gamebar not appearing also the achievements not pop appear when I unlocked a one. I didn't find any solution I tried the most of the regular things and doesn't works. I don't know what's the problem is it from my windows or the gamebar I tried everything to reinstall it both and still the same issue.

Game Bar notification issue

Ive been having this issue for a while now.

Using Game bar on Win10 I do not receive any message/group chat invite/game invite notifications; as a banner, or in the action centre, or even a notification sound.

Since messages have now been exclusively moved to being handled by Game Bar, this leaves me missing out on invitations and other Xbox notifications on my Win10 device when actively playing games or doing anything else.

I have tried all the troubleshooting short of doing a clean install of Win10 that I can think of.

This including:

• Checking that notification banner is on (it was)
  
• Turning off focus assist
  
• Checking background apps (both Xbox and Game bar are "on")
  
• Battery saver is off
  
• Ease of access: notifications are set for 5 seconds
  
• Turned off all settings under Settings>Gaming, restarted machine and turned them back on.
  
• Ran a clean-up AND a System File Checker (SFC) scan in Command prompt (multiple times over the span of a few months)
  
• Restarted Windows Explorer
  
• Updated/checked registry.
  
  • My PC was initially missing the "ToastEnabled" DWORD registry under "PushNotifications" but I have manually added this back. This has also not fixed the issue
    
• Ran the troubleshooter for windows apps through Settings
  
• Manually reset the Windows store using command prompt (wsreset.exe)
  
• Tried "Repair" AND "Reset" in the Apps section of Settings for both the Xbox and Game Bar apps.
  
• Uninstalled and Reinstalled both Xbox and Game Bar apps using BOTH the normal method and manually through Powershell in Admin

• Toggling every notification linked button off and on, in both Windows Settings and the Xbox app & Game bar settings

• All windows updates are current (no updates left)
  
• Disabled Antivirus (except the built in Windows Defender)
  
• Re-registered Action Centre through Powershell
  
  • Get-AppxPackage | % { Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppxManifest.xml" -verbose }
    

Additionally when im checking the Settings>System>Notifications&Actions apps list, both the "Xbox" and "Game bar" apps do not appear, and there doesnt seem to be a way to add apps to this list, or get them to be recognised by my PC to be added automatically.

Nothing in this list has worked for me and im wondering if anyone else has come across the issue and managed to solve it, as im at a complete loss now.

 

Game Bar notification issue

Thanks for taking the time to help with my issue.

Most of the site links you had listed I had already visited and actioned in my own searching, but thank you regardless.

The link to your own article proved very useful (Bullet point 5). Your performance and Install Integrity checklist has a lot of info that I will remember for future if any other issues arise. Step 19 of which is what I have resorted to in the end. I have performed a repair upgrade using the current windows 10 ISO, its nice to know I can keep my programs and settings and essentially not lose anything, minus a few system preferences and external device drivers, but those reinstalled quickly by just plugging the devices back in.

The repair upgrade seems to have re-added the core Xbox App back to the app list in settings>system>notifications&actions, but unfortunately not the Xbox Game Bar App. Meaning that I am now receiving some, but not all of the Xbox associated notifications. Regardless this is a good step in the right direction in my books.

I'm not mentally prepared enough to go through a clean install at this point but I have hope that if this repair upgrade added at least one app back, that maybe the next windows feature update may help my system to recognise the rest of the apps, and may fully remedy the issue.

I will however continue to keep tinkering through some other settings and if I find anything that fully eliminates the issue I will add to this post for anyone else.

Not receiving Xbox party notifications on Game Bar App!

Basing on the statement you provided above, here are some troubleshooting steps that you may try:



•Check your notification settings
Make sure that notifications for the Game Bar app are turned on. To do this, go to Settings > System > Notifications & actions > Game Bar and make sure that the toggle switch is turned on.



•Check your Xbox Live privacy settings
Make sure that your Xbox Live privacy settings allow for party notifications. To do this, go to account.xbox.com > Privacy & online safety > Xbox Live privacy > View details & customize > Communication & multiplayer and make sure that "Party invitations" is set to "Allow".



•Reinstall the Game Bar app
Uninstall the Game Bar app and then reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.

•Check for updates
Make sure that your Game Bar app and Windows 11 are up to date. To check for updates, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.



If the issue still persists, let us try these troubleshooting steps:


Enable Xbox Game Bar via Settings

1. Press Win + I key and launch Windows Settings
   
2. Click the Gaming tab in the left pane and select Xbox Game Bar
   
3. Toggle the button next to Open Xbox Game Bar to “On”
   
4. Reboot the system to apply changes and then launch Xbox Game Bar
   
   Repair or Reset Xbox Game Bar
   

1. Press Win + I key to launch Windows Settings
   
2. Click Apps > Apps & features
   
3. Search for “Xbox Game Bar” in the search box and hit Enter
   
4. Next, click the three-dot > Advanced options
   
5. Select Repair. If this does not do anything, select Reset
   
   Use Registry Editor
   
   1. Press Win + R to open the Run window
      
   2. Type regedit and then press Enter
      
   3. Navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\GameDVR
      
   4. Look for the AppCatureEnabled key. If you cannot find it, right-click on the space > New > DROWD (32 bit) Value. Name it as AppCaptureEnabled > double-click and set value data to 1.
      
   5. Try to use Xbox Game Bar and see if issue is resolved
      
      
      Repair the ieframe.dll file
      
   1. In the search bar, type Command Prompt > right-click > Run as administrator
      
   2. Type in the following commands. Ensure that you press Enter after entering each command:
      
      • sfc /scanfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
        
      • sfc /verifyfile=c:\windows\system32\ieframe.dll
        
      • assoc
        
      • sfc /scannow
        
   3. Restart your PC and see if Xbox Game Bar is working
