Windows 10: Game bar parties not working 0x00000000 something went wrong try again later

I get this error when trying to start a party in Xbox game bar "Something went wrong with your party. Try again later [0x00000000]. Trying to join a party in Xbox Console companion does not work either. Keep in mind... I can see my friends list, and I can send chats... the only thing that I can not do is join a voice party. In the console companion app, I can however join the voice party, but they can not hear me, and I can not hear them. Something, when I join a party in the console companion app, I can hear them and they can hear me just fine for about 2 seconds, then it all cuts out.


No, this is not an issue with my sound settings both input and output. I have updated all of my drivers to the best of my ability. Windows has no updates available. It isnt a LAN issue cause the same issue happens when over WiFi. On a possibly unrelated note, Sea of Thieves from the windows store will not run either... i dunno, seems to be a windows issue... probably unrelated though.


I went through multiple tech support individuals back in January trying to figure this out and they all were not able to help.... In fact, a tech got so confused at the issue that I was sent to a third party tech support site not affiliated with Microsoft at all...So I am reaching out again. This problem is super annoying, and someone must have a fix for this...

Good LAN party games?

Most of my suggestions have already been listed.

However, I found Swat4 to actually be a pretty fun LAN game, especially at smaller LAN parties.

 

want to open game bar, but win+G repeatedly asks if "want to open game bar?"

on Windows 10 and check if it works.

Game Bar Problems

(not sure about the category ... )

So the other day i used game bar to take a video for a game, and it worked, no problems whatsoever.

however, after pressing win+G on the same game at a later date, it said "Something went wrong and we couldn't change your settings. try again later"

thinking maybe it would work on other apps i tried it on chrome, it worked at first, but after trying again at a later date , it gave the same message "Something went wrong and we couldn't change your settings. try again later"
