Windows 10: Game Bar Take Screenshot Command.

Is there a way to take a screenshot via a command similar tohow you can put your computer to sleep by making a shortcut with the target of “C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exepowrprof.dll,SetSuspendState 0,1,0”


The reason being is I want to map taking a screenshot to anxbox controller button press. I currently have mapped now the default way oftaking a screenshot ‘win + alt + printscreen’ to a single ‘xbox button’ presson the xbox one controller using ReWASD.


However some issues occur when doing it this way. Forexample in Red Dead 2 when I try to take a screenshot the map comes up when Ipress my controllers screenshot button because the map button is mapped to ‘alt’.There is no way to tell red dead to ignore keyboard input and only go for gamepadinput like there is in a lot of other games like Assassins Creed Odyssey.

This means when taking a screenshot in Red Dead 2 there isalways a really large map HUD at the bottom of my picture.


If there was some way to have a shortcut that runs a commandor something that takes a screenshot without any keyboard key press I could mapthat shortcut to the ‘Xbox Button’ on ReWASD and solve all my problems.

It would also be handy if there was a similar way to do itfor steam screenshots too.

Solution 1: Re-enable Game DVR.

1. Press the Windows key, and then select the gear icon to access Settings.
2. Go to Gaming.
3. Turn off Game Bar.
4. Restart your computer
5. Go back to Settings > Gaming.
6. Turn on Game Bar.

Solution 2: Check for any Windows 10 Update on your computer by going to
Settings > Update and Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.

Solution 3: Delete Temporary Files

1. Open Settings and go to System.
2. Go to Storage and choose This PC.
3. Scroll down and find Temporary files.
4. Click on it and then click on Delete temporary files. (Note: This process may take a while to complete - it all depends on how many you have. Wait until it's complete and then reboot your PC and try again.)

Solution 4: Perform a Clean boot on your computer to eliminate software conflicts. You may refer to this

Incorrect configuration setting is one of the possible reasons why you're there's a little window when recording your games. To resolve this concern, I recommend that you turn off your Game bar and restart your computer before turning it on again. To do
this, you may follow the steps below:

How to disable Game bar:

1. Right-click the Start button.
2. Click Settings.
3. Click Gaming.
4. Click Game bar.
5. Click the switch below Record game
   clips. Screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar so that it turns
   Off.
