  1. Game Changes Desktop Resolution

    Hello,

I am trying to get Silent Hunter 3 wokring on my computer, but mistakenly de-clicked the full screen option in the hopes that the game would display in full screen stupid, I know. The orginal setting was already on full screen. What I did not know, however, what that the game would display too large for me to access the settings to change it back. Now whenever the game is opened, the game menu is massive and the options cannot be reached. This also changes the homepage of the computer, as black bars flank the home screen and the apps are massive. I am able to restore the home screen but no the game. I have also tried unistalling and reinstalling the game, the settings seem to save somehow. I need to get the game back to its orginal size, but do not know how. Silent hunter 3 can only run on 1024 x 768 as it is an older game. As previusoly stated, I need to get the game back to its orginal size even though I cannot access the game option menu.

    I will take any solution!

    Thanks!

    Antonio

    Game Changes Desktop Resolution

    errorr invalid Desktop resolution 0x0

I have the same issue, it started right after installing the Windows 10 Creator's Update.

Here is how I fixed it:

    • Right-click the desktop, left click "Display Settings"
    • Write down what your current resolution is (1920 x 1080 in my case), then change it to 800 x 600 and click "Keep Changes"
    • Start Hoyle
    • Exit Hoyle
    • Right-click the desktop, left click "Display Settings"
    • Change the resolution from 800 x 600 back to what you wrote down in step 2) and click "Keep Changes"
    • Start Hoyle again and it should still work
Hoyle now works under the original resolution of 1920 x 1080 for me so this appears to be some glitch with the Windows 10 Creators Update fixed by changing the resolution and changing it back.
