Information Microsoft Edge is a new web browser that is available across the Windows 10 device family. It is designed for Windows 10 to be faster, safer, and compatible with the modern Web.

Starting with Windows 10 build 16215, you can now pin a website to the taskbar from Microsoft Edge. The site’s icon will be used to give you quick access to your favorite sites right from the taskbar.

Starting with InPrivate sessions in Microsoft Edge. Websites pinned to the taskbar from an InPrivate session on a previous build will now open in a regular (non-InPrivate) Microsoft Edge session.

This tutorial will show you how to pin to taskbar a website open in Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 10.

EXAMPLE: "Pin to taskbar" website from Microsoft Edge

    Pin Microsoft Edge to Taskbar

We appreciate the information you've provided. The latest build for version 1703 is 15063.483, so if you don't have the latest build installed, we suggest installing them by going to
Settings > Update & Security > Check for Updates.

This could also happen if you have any programs that modify how Windows normally looks that might override the Pin to Taskbar function. To find out if any other programs are preventing you from pinning Edge to the taskbar, perform a clean boot. This will
load Windows with minimal drivers and programs, minimizing the risk of software conflicts. Check if you could pin Edge to the taskbar while in a clean boot environment by following the steps

    here
    .

Note: To return your computer back to normal, check the section How to reset the computer to start normally after clean boot troubleshooting.

We'd also recommend creating a new user profile to check if this is caused by a corrupted user profile. You may find the steps for doing that through this link.

Let us know if you're able to pin Edge to the taskbar after following these steps.

Trying to pin 'Microsoft Edge' to taskbar

I have read the previous enquiries about pin to taskbar, but I have tried these to no avail.

if I go to 'start' and when 'edge' comes up I right click I get the following options

"pin to start" "open file location" and "don't show in this list"

if I go to 'start' and 'all apps' and right click 'edge from there I just get "pin to start" and "open file location"

if I have opened 'edge' and then right click when it is on the taskbar all I get is "close window"

if I press "windows" and type 'edge' and right click all I get is "open file location" and "pin to start"

I have managed to shortcut to my desktop, but seem unable to actually "pin" to my taskbar.

I am on Windows 10 build 10240 and 'edge' is my default browser.

    Pin Microsoft Edge to Taskbar

    Thanks for the reply,

The version of windows 10 I have at the moment is build 1703, this is also only happening to Edge, I've tested pinning a couple other apps to the taskbar and the all work fine as expected, its just Edge that isn't giving me the option. I've also done the
step where I use task manager, end the task explorer.exe and then start it again or something similar to that and it's still not letting me put Edge in the taskbar.
