Windows 10: Game DVR not recording game audio

Hi everyone,
I've been looking for a fix for ages now, but all forum threads I found were talking about the Game DVR recording no audio at all, while I can hear my microphone, but nothing else *Wink I've tried changing the audio quality, restarting my pc and even recording different games, but there was no game audio to be heard anywhere. If you have any ideas how to fix this I'd be very grateful!

Windows 10 DVR No Audio (Whens this going to be fixed)

Hi thanks for the reply, I have no normal sound issues, As for Drivers there are no drivers, it's Microsoft drivers which are used, As it's connected via USB the Headset connects to a hub which is a USB Sound Card, it's Win 10 DVR when recording cannot record
5.1/7.1 audio, all other game recording software has NO issues, a way to fix this is in the Windows DVR Software so it records either 5.1/7.1 Audio or let it record WASAPI,

Win 10 DVR records Mic input from my Gaming Headset which is only Stereo, it records Audio fine with my Cheap £10 Gaming Headset as this is only Stereo.

I would have thought that with Windows 10 being a MODERN OS it's Software should allow for 5.1/7.1 Audio recording within the DVR Software that comes with the OS, This has been an ongoing issue with this DVR, Which is a shame as it's actually a good game
recording piece of software.

Game DVR randomly cutting out sound when recording

This issue doesn't just occur with games, it occurs with any kind of application that game DVR normally records, sound included. but whenever i record using game DVR, whether it's 'Record that' or just regular recording. it randomly cuts out sound in the
finished clip. i've troubleshooted, i've changed my audio device, but in the end, it still cuts audio.

This error occurs on both my Surface pro 4 and my desktop, most notable on my desktop.

 

What do you see in settings > audio?


This bit below is not exactly what you are asking for, but may be a better solution to your problem.
Do you have an AMD or Nvidia GPU? If so, I personally recommend using the built in recorders that they have. I have a GTX 760 and whenever and wherever I press alt+z I can bring up an overlay that allows me to start recording or streaming. It can also easily be set up to stay active in the background and if something cool happens when you weren't recording you can have it save the last 'x' minutes of video (where 'x' is the amount you set in the options). It can also record anything else on your PC, not just games.

 

I have an AMD card, and apparently that also comes with a screen recorder, so I'll try that instead. Thanks for the suggestion! *Wink
