Windows 10: Game keeps crashing after some time, this is my error message, how to fix?

It shows up with this message after crashing. The game crashes not my system though. I have tried tons of stuff reinstalling my gpu drivers many times and disabled full screen optimisations and such. Im just sick of it and each time I download a game it crashes haha.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

Hi Alan, thanks for your answer. I've done the steps you suggested, but my game still crashed after a while. This time I got the error 0xc0000096 for the application error with the event-id 1005, if that's any relevant. There was a follow up log with a few steps I could follow to try and fix the error, but those didn't seem to work either. One of them was to check and repair the file system by running CHKDSK. Sadly the results didn't change. I'd like to avoid having to factory reset my PC for this so I'd be more than glad for any further suggestions.
