  1. game makes headphone audio fuzzy despite reinstalling/downloading drivers multiple times

my device has Bluetooth headphones connected to it which work perfectly for most applications and games. however certain games cause the audio to sound as if it's a bad recording. I've attempted to reinstall, reenable, reconnect, the audio sources. My audio enhancements are disabled. I've also completely redownloaded what Realtek drivers, services I know of that I need. I'm thoroughly lost and I desperately need your help!

  2. Any and all headphones make audio come from both the speaker and the headphones.

    Hi Way,

I’m Mario an Independent Advisor. I’ll try to help you with this problem.

I suggest reviewing the next steps to fix this issue:

Solution 1. Set Headphones as the Default Device

The “audio playing through headphones and speakers at the same time” problem is usually related to a settings issue or an issue with the drivers. For this reason, we can isolate the issue by modifying the settings first. Follow the steps below to set your headphones
    as the default device.

    1. Click on the Start menu and select Control Panel to open it.

    2. Select Hardware and Sound.

    3. Click on Manage audio devices under the Sound tab.

    4. On the Playback tab, click on your headphones and then click on the Set Default button.

    5. Click on the Recording tab. Then select your microphone/headphones and click on the Set Default button.

    6. Save the changes by clicking OK.

Now try to play an audio file to see if the “audio playing through headphones and speakers at the same time” issue is gone. If no, please review the next steps.

Solution 2. Uninstall and Re-install Your Audio Driver

As mentioned above, the “audio playing through headphones and speakers at the same time” problem could be caused by an issue with the audio driver. Therefore, to address this issue, another method is to uninstall and re-install the audio driver. Do as follows.

    1. Launch Device Manager.

    2. Locate Sound, video, and game controllers and double-click on it.

    3. Right-click on your audio device and select Uninstall from the pop-up menu.

    4. Check the “Delete the driver software for this device” option and select OK when asked to confirm the uninstall.

    5. Once you’ve uninstalled the driver completely, restart your computer.

Then you can manually download the audio driver for your device from the manufacturer's official website and install it.

Solution 3. Run the Windows Audio Troubleshooter

If the methods above make no difference, you can also try to address the issue by running the Windows Audio Troubleshooter. Here’s how to run it on Windows 10.

    1. Type “Troubleshoot” in the search box and select Troubleshoot from the search results.

    2. Scroll down to locate Playing Audio in the list and click on it.

    3. Click on the Run the troubleshooter button under it. Then the troubleshooter will automatically detect the audio issues on your computer and resolve them. You may need to restart your computer in the process.

I hope to help you. Please, tell us the results.

  3. Headphones do not show up when Realtek is installed

OK, so this happened to me on my laptop. It wanted to use the realtek drivers no matter what. Let me show you what to do.
Step 1. Open the start menu and type 'Device Manager' in the search bar. Click on the result.

Now click on the button that says 'Roll back driver'.
If the button is dimmed, make sure your Realtek drivers are currently installed.

Step 6. If you did it correctly, the system should ask you to restart to finish. If it does then you finished the tutorial correctly!
Once restarted, Open device manager again using step 1. Expand the 'sound, video and game controllers' category again.

Step 7. If it says 'High Definition Audio Device' then you did it right. Here's a pic for example purposes:

Windows 10 Game Recorder creating periods of fuzzy/distorted game audio

I have recorded many times with the Windows Game Recorder before with no issue. I got a new PC, and the last couple of recordings have had some strange audio issues.

Everything sounds fine during recording. In the final video clip however, there are multiple periods of distortion. The game audio sounds fuzzy and stutters. Microphone audio is unaffected. It seems to happen every half hour or so, and lasts for just under
three minutes before returning to normal.
