Windows 10: Game performance issues after updating to Windows 11 Version 22H2

Hello,I updated to Windows 11 Version 22H2 on my ASUS TUF DASH F15 laptop the other day and since the update, I have been getting random stuttering and fps drops in most of the games on my system that I wasn't getting before. I have installed every optional update available and my Nvidia drivers are up-to-date so outside of rolling back the update I'm unsure what to do so any help would be appreciated.

How to get the Windows 10 2022 Update version 22H2 Win Update

If you can't install it from windows update you can try to install it manually, it's the same KB5015684 obtained with windows update.

Do dism and sfc /scannow commands before and/or after installing it.

Some games and apps might experience lower than expected performance or stuttering on Windows 11, version 22H2. Affected games and apps are inadvertently enabling GPU performance debugging features not meant to be used by consumers.

To safeguard your upgrade experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on devices affected by this issue from being offered or installing Windows 11, version 22H2. If your organization is using Update Compliance, the safeguard IDs are 41766570 and 41990091.

Workaround: If you are already on Windows 11, version 22H2 and are experiencing this issue, you might be able to resolve it by updating your games and gaming related apps to the latest version available. If you are unsure how to update the games and apps you have installed, you will need to consult the developer of those games and apps but most will update automatically through the store they were purchased from or directly when opening them.

Resolution: This issue was resolved in KB5020044. The safeguard hold is estimated to be removed in mid-December 2022.

Still experiencing poor gaming performance after Windows 11 22H2 update

You can actually just use rufus format tool to make a pre-22h2 Windows 11 bootable usb and go back in time. It has a download choice in it with the list of choices to make it easy. I just used it recently although for 22h2 which I'm putting on all kinds of unsupported computers

If you're going to clean install then go pre-22h2 and you'll still get supported updates for a while.

But, I'm not seeing any noticeable performance difference with 22h2 and Nvidia RTX 2060. Still playing games without noticing loss. So not everyone is affected. I would not put it in as poor at all. Its about the same as Windows 10. Currently using 546.27 driver released October 27, 2022 and I never install Geforce Experience.
