    Hello, there was a windows update for my pc, and after updating the system all my games started to appear flickering through other apps, mostly google and discord. This never happened to me before the update and i my graphics card drivers. What could be the issue?

  3. Screen flickering in safe mode help!

    Hi Yasmeentq,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your query. I suggest you to follow the steps to get out of safe mode.


    • Press Windows key + R

    • Type msconfig

    • In msconfig > Boot tab >
      Boot Options > uncheck Safe Boot > APPLY / OK.

    In order to get clarity on this issue and assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, please reply with the answers to the questions below.



    1. What is the make and model number of the motherboard?
    2. What is the version of your Windows 10 computer? (To check the version of your Windows 10, you can refer
      See which version of Windows 10 you have).
    3. What is the name of the game in which you are facing issues with flickering?
    4. Are you facing the flickering issue while normally using Windows?


    Meanwhile, try the below methods and check if the flickering persists.



    Method 1:
    Changing The Screen Refresh Rate.



    1. Right-click on an empty area on the
      desktop
      > Click on Display settings > Click on
      Advanced display settings
      > Click on Display adapter properties
      for Display.
    2. Go to the Monitor tab and click on the drop-down list under
      Screen refresh rate and select 60 Hertz.
    3. Click on Apply > OK.
    4. Then, go back to the Adapter tab and click on
      List All Modes > Select a display mode you want that has the screen resolution and
      screen refresh rate.
    5. Click on Apply > OK >
      Restart the computer once
      and check if the screen flickering issue persists.
