Windows 10: Games and audio constantly stuttering

Hello,


I've ran into an issue where games and audio keep stuttering. I think the same applies to videos and even OS in general, but its much less visible there. But in some games the thing turns extreme and the game stutters multiple times per second not dependent on high or low end games. Although video varies, what is consistent is audio stuttering. Any audio at all times will have stutters from 2 times per second to once per a few seconds. It sounds as if the audio stops for a moment and then continues.


I build this PC a few months ago and recently updated to an RTX 2080 TI, did not have issues before that, but didnt have issues straight after upgrading either. I think it started a few weeks after that. I've reinstalled windows, reinstalled GPU and audio drivers multiple times. Tried switching from NVIDIA game ready drivers to studio drivers, but alas, no help.


An interesting thing is that when I restart my PC and play a game just after, It'll run just fine without any stutters for the first 10-15 minutes, but after that the game becomes completely unplayable.



If its important in detecting the issue, the other components of the PC are:

G.SKILL Trident Z RGB Black 16x4GB 3600MHz

ASUS TUF Gaming X570-plus motherboard

ADATA XPG Gammix S50 1TB NVM SSD

Ryzen 9 3900x CPU


Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've gone through a ton of threads of people telling stories of having a similar issue on windows, but not on linux distros. I've tried so many options and after dealing with this issue for over a month there seems to be none left. Anyone got an idea?


edit: if i remember correctly, this appeared after either a windows 10 or a driver update.

Audio driver conflict causing stuttering?

Hi Techhelper89,

Unfortunately, I did the instructions as mentioned in the thread and the stuttering persists. I used the link provided: and the steps requested

I also tried reinstalling the Realtek Audio drivers as suggested by the thread to no avail.

I've also added some links of how the stuttering looks and sounds like to the main post of this thread. I hope it helps identify the issue.

One more thing I noticed after the above steps is that I can boot with Nvidia HD Audio drivers disabled but the stuttering persist. Enabling then disabling "cures" the stuttering for a while. Although, when this is happening while the Nvidia Audio drivers are
disabled (as there is an enable option) the icon doesn't look like one that is normally disabled (with a small circular arrow down icon).

Bluetooth audio stutters constantly, unusable

I had to replace my motherboard and reinstalled Windows 10 Professional (64 bit) since then my Bluetooth headphones are unstable and constantly stutter. Despite having a 100m range Bluetooth adapter moving just 1-2m away generally loses the connection.
Even the smallest movement causes the audio to stutter or cut out. The connection seems to work a bit better if I switch them from stereo mode to hands-free, but the quality of the audio is very poor in that mode.

Alternatively, when I pair the same headphones to my phone there are no audio issues and the range is 10m or more. I have purchased a new Bluetooth adapter and a new pair of headphones and get the same results.



Have tried:

• Reinstalled all drivers, including audio drivers

• Uninstall, reinstall Bluetooth

• Shut off WiFi to check for interference

• Tried with 4 different Bluetooth audio devices, speakers/headphones always the same issue

• Ran Bluetooth and audio troubleshooter

 

Audio Stuttering leading to Blue Screen while gaming

here is the report from latencymon which recorder the audio stuttering.

these stutter are there even when streaming videos online.

Also these stutter probably cause blue screen while gaming.

I have added all the previous dumpfiles to the one drive with the system info and latencymon report as a txt check the link below.

I have already checked for windows and driver updates and have the performance set at maximum performance in power options.

I also tried reinstalling windows using system restore and disabled multi-core rendering (an in-game setting suggested at the game's discussion forum)

I ran DISM restorehealth command, sfc as well as ckhdsk those didnt help.
