Windows 10: Games crash when pc is in balance prefomance mode In power plans but run when the power...

So I'm having this issue with my setup games like Cod mw2 Apex Spiderman and others run good for a few minutes when the pc is set to balance performance then I get direct X 12 errors. I set the PC to power saving in the control panel and obviously I lose prefomance but games don't crash I'm at a lost with this issue considering what I have In my setup please helpI9-13900K 64GB Corsair Ddr5 ram Zotac 4080 Asus rog strix z690-e gaming motherboard

Power Plan stuck in Balanced Mode.

I have this bug for some time now but since i couldn't find a fix for it i decided to post it here to see if anybody could help me.

Basically, my power plan is stuck on Balanced mode and whenever i try to choose the Maximum Performance mode it just resets to Balanced Mode again.

I have tried to create my own power plan but with no avail, it still reverts to balanced mode. Does anyone know the fix for this?

Blackscreen and fans on full, random crashes, power plan stuck on balanced

Started in last couple of days after about 8 months of working fine

Crashes at random times.

No overclock

Updated windows, thought that worked but then it happened again a few times, found "Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered." in Event viewer and followed steps to avoid this, including setting power plan to high performance.

Crash occurred again whilst all hardware idling, and no warnings or errors were found in event viewer at time of crash.

Could this be a PSU problem? is 550W sufficient?

Problem still appears to be with gpu as audio continues beyond blackscreen, apart from one instance when whole system shut down.

Rebooted today and crashed before login, rebooted to find power plan reset to balanced and had to perform a –restoredefaultschemes command again to be able to set it back to high performance, seems like something is forcing windows into balanced power mode
and this is causing a nvlddmkm error.

Any help appreciated.

Update: power plan resets to balanced each time I reboot, not sure if this is what is causing crashes.

CPU: I7 7700k @4.2

Motherboard: Asus rog strix z270e

Ram: 2x ddr4 16GB

GPU: MSI gtx 180 gaming x 8gb

PSU: Corsair RM550x

OS: Win10 64bit 16299.402

 

Games freezing in Balanced Power Plan as well as High Performance Power plan but works decent enough in Power saving plan. Please help.

I have been trying to run Counter Strike : Global Offensive on balanced Power Plan as well as on High Performance Power Plan but whenever I try to run it, it eventually freezes the screen but I can still hear the sound and move around my player but there's
no visual output. Whereas, when I try to run the same game on Power Saver plan, it works without freezing or crashing but gives me ultimately a lower framerate.

Can someone please provide a solution to this?

My laptop configuration :

AMD A10 CPU with R6 Graphics.

AMD R7 M360 Graphics.

16 GB DDR3 1600 Mhz RAM
