Windows 10: Games crashing after System File Checker scan

My login time was quite long, so I did a System File Checker scan which helped, however now when I play games like dota 2 or rainbow six siege they just crash without any error. What should I do now ?

I understand that SFC scan doesn’t complete and give error. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



SFC scan checks the integrity of the system files that are required for the running of Windows. If certain system DLL files are causing issues, SFC scan will try to repair these files. However, you may refer the article
Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or
corrupted system files where you will find more information.



Meanwhile, I would suggest you to perform DISM from the above mentioned article and see if that helps.



If you still see errors in SFC scan on running OS, then you can perform in-place upgrade to repair the system files.



An in place upgrade will repair the corrupted system files and will upgrade the computer to the latest version of Windows as well.

System File Checker scan in safe mode

When I try to perform a System File Checker scan it gives me the following reply: 'Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.'

I then follow the suggestion to resolve this problem, and perform the System File Checker scan in safe mode, but it just gives me the same problem again: 'Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.' How do I resolve this?

I need to complete the file checker because when I try to open 3dsmax I am getting the error: 'The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b). Click OK to close the application.'

I have checked in the folder %WinDir%\WinSxS\Temp and can see that the PendingDeletes and PendingRenames folders do exist there alright.

Appreciate any assistance please!!

SFC scan :

System file checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

Run system file checker (SFC) and see if it helps. Please follow these steps:

a. Press Windows + X keys and click command prompt (admin).

b. Type the following command in command prompt and press Enter.

sfc /scannow

If the issue persist, suggest you to contact the game developers for further support.
