Windows 10: Games crashing to black screen but all stress and memory tests ok

Hi everyone,I am hoping someone might be able to help me try and find the root cause of my issue.I am experience black screen within 5 minutes or so every time I try and play a game even with low load on cpu, gpu and psu. I have spent days trying to trouble shoot without any luck. Have tried several different games all with the same result. System specs: AMD Ryzen 5 5600xAsus TUF B550M -E WifiAsus Dual 3070 GPUCorsair CV650W Corsair Vengeance 28gb 3200mhz RAMWindows 10 and now windows 11So Far I have run stress tests on both CPU and GPU , also at the same time with no issuesRan windows memo

Critical Kernel Power 41 (63): Black screen, restart when playing game

Kernel Power 41 63

Computer turns black and automatically restarts when playing high demanding games, no BSOD, not overclocked.

Games that have crashed:

• Far Cry 4
  
• The Division
  
• Fortnite
  
• Overwatch
  
• Counter Strike GO
  
• Last Man Standing

Specs:

• Cooler master 550w PSU
  
• RX 470 4gb
  
• Pentium g4560
  
• Asrock MATX b250m MOBO
  
• 2x 4gb rip jaws RAM
  
• WD 1tb HDD
  
• Gammamax 300 CPU Cooler

OS: Windows 10

I built the PC myself, errors started when playing high demanding games for the first time. Ran stress tests when first built, prime95 and heaven whilst logging temps for 8 hours, no crashes or high temps (max cup temp 54 C, max gpu temp 76 C). However, when playing games, within an hour, computer crashes (always kernel 41 63). I sent the PC to the outlet where I purchased the parts from, they had their own technicians run tests on all the parts. Initially, they found a fault with the PSU, which was at that time a 500w EVGA bronze. They replaced it with a 550w Cooler master gold. Still experienced 41 63, black out and restarts. Took it back, I said I suspected the MOBO was the issue, so they replaced it under warranty, problem persisted. I took it back for a third time, they took it to their head office, did extensive testing and found a fault with the CPU, they replaced it. Took them 3 weeks to complete... issue is still not resolved.

At this point, my computer has been disassembled and parts replaced multiple times.

Things I have done:

• Updated all drivers (CPU, GPU, BIOS, sound etc)
  
• Clean installation of Windows 10 multiple times
  
• Stress tested with Heaven and Prime95
  
• Logged temperatures while stress testing and playing games, haven’t seen any high temps
  
• Disabled and enabled different sound drivers to test for conflicts
  
• Replaced PSU, MOBO and CPU

I’ve logged temps when both stress testing and while playing games. Here is my latest HWINFO log when playing Fortnite and then black screen and restart, kernel power 41 63. crash-test.CSV

Happy to run any tests, suggestions and upload further logs. Really stuck on what to do....

 

Black screen crashes

Hi guys,

I've encountered a recent problem with my system.

when playing a game the computer will randomly black screen and crash no signal to the monitor, nothing.

I'm not sure yet if this happens in but games and i will try a little later.

I reloaded a 4 month old image to my system, and since then i have only updated windows and that game.

I'm thinking if it happens in more games than this one it could be my psu dying or my video card.

I'm about to use occt to stress test my psu and video card to see if i can reproduce the issue.

Any ideas about what else it could be?

btw, i've been running everything at stock since the re-image.

update - well both the video stress test and the psu stress test crash my computer *Frown That would indicate a failing psu, right?
I tried the cpu stress test and it ran fine, but the other two were instant crashes.. maybe the 12v rail is dying?

 

PC crashing in games but running fine in stress tests

Hi all,

Recently started suffering an increasing number of BSODs until i was then stuck on Automatic Repair loop and couldn't actually log into the PC. Have had two clean installs of Windows with a PC technician but issue just seems to keep happening.

To note, this is only in games and PC has run fine across all stress tests/ diagnostic checks. The crashes at the moment aren't BSODs but black screens which goes to automatic restart. Running an RTX4070 and playing non-intensive games like NBA 2k24 and Cities Skylines. Most recent crashes pasted below in order of recency:
