Whenever I try to run a game on fullscreen, it boots up, then freezes for a few seconds before crashing. After that, even if I close them on the foreground via alt+f4 they still keep running on the background, and cannot be closed even with the task manager; which ignores my command to finish the task even when I do it through the "processes" tab, then when I do it through the "details" tab it says that "the operation could not be completed, access denied".The only thing that can force them to stop running is a full restart of the PC, but then whenever I try to open the game the same thing hap

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

 

Games crashing in fullscreen mode

Hi, I have a problem with all games on my PC for a while. Every time when I try to launch games in fullscreen, they crash and won't launch. I mask the problem with windowed mode (in windowed mode there is no problem) but it's annoying and fps drops down
in windowed mode.

I tried so many things - reinstalling display drivers, reinstalling all games and steam, some minor "fixes" that I found on the web, but nothing helps.

My PC specs:

• Windows 10 x64
• NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
• Intel Core i7-6700HQ CPU

I really don't know what to do. I will be very happy if someone can help. Thank you!

everytime I try to load a fullscreen game on windows 10 it turns to black and crashes resulting in me having to reset the computer

it only started happening after the update does anyone know how to fix this
