Windows 10: Games minimize when fullscreen?

I reloaded Windows a few months ago, and since then my games that start up fullscreen (or any game I turn on fullscreen) just outright minimize and it seems like it refreshes my desktop.

I've tried reloading windows completely with a fresh install, removing all files and everything. I know it's not a virus/malware, I've scanned and made sure of it. I have to mash Alt+Enter to get a game minimized and then put it in borderless fullscreen.

The PC is up to date, except for my GPU drivers (which hasn't made a difference, I've tried the most updated and all that ever does is make my PC wonky) so I stay on a older driver from 2020 that has proven stability for me personally.

Is there ANYBODY that can tell me why this started happening? I've tried google, and I've done everything I could find. I've disabled unnessecary startup shit, I've gone into the services and tried changing things, I'm at a loss.

Prevent Fullscreen games from minimizing?

I've been playing an ARPG called Path of Exile lately, and the game seems to run way smooth in Fullscreen mode than it does in Windowed Fullscreen. The only problem I have is if a window pops up outside of the game, it'll minimize the game and pull me out of it. Since I'm playing a hardcore character, this is potentially deadly and a situation I'm looking to avoid. Is there any way possible to prevent another window from taking focus and minimizing another program like the game I'm trying to play?

 

Some issues with minimizing and maximizing games

Im trying the focus assist option right now, i will get back with the results.

Alright, so turning focus assist off seems to have reduced the time it takes for my games to minimize and maximize, but i still get the annoying messagebox in the top left corner of the screen. I would also like if all my games would minimize and maximize instantly, but its a step in the right direction.

Also, my games are running in exclusive fullscreen mode.

Hello,

So, ive had this issue regarding all fullscreen games minimizing in three seconds. Steam games or not, they all minimize. This issue has me highly irritated. Ive tried countless things to fix this issue, even browsed many topics on here as well in my feutile
attempts to fix this issue. If hardawre specs are needed i am using an hp 15 quad core prosseor laptop with eight gigabyte aftermarket ram.

Please help me!
