Windows 10: Games no longer running in Windows 10

Hello all,


First time writing on these forums but i need an answer to something.


I installed Windows 10 1903 on 5/5/2020 got all the updates including feature update to 1909 and all my games were running fine, literally 2 days later all games stopped running completely...at best they would attempt to launch but go no where. they either shutdown altogether or the game or games are still in the services list but not running fully.


For example World of warcraft, would launch the launcher but when you press the "PLAY" button it would say Game is running but will go no further and the wow.exe service will be in the services list but using only a few megabytes when it should be using over a 1gb of memory and WoW will not launch into game properly it just hangs almost.


At first i thought it was a WoW/Win10 issue but its affecting all other games including sims 3 and 4 origin all steams games to the point where steam cant see where my games are installed even when i manually tell it where they are.


So how can it work one moment then two day later all stops working. i have done everything to try and resolve this and before someone say it yes my drivers are up to date yes i have all updates from windows update.. i ihave tried restorehealth sfc reverting back to previous build and nothing...ive now had to revert back to faithful Windows 7 where it runs all games effortlessly, atm Win 10 sucks badly

- When you say 'ive tried troubleshooting', what are you referring to?

- Did you check in compatibility mode?

I suggest to run the game in compatibility mode by following the steps below and check if it helps.

• 
  Right click on the ‘Setup’ icon for the game and click on properties.
  
• 
  Under Compatibility tab, check the option for ‘Run in Compatibility mode’.
  
• 
  Select Windows 8.1 from the drop down list.
  
• 
  Click on Apply and then OK.

I would suggest you to refer the below link and check the compatibility of the game with Windows 10.

You may also try installing the game in compatibility mode.
Follow these steps to install the game software in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

        Right-click on the game setup file and click on
        ‘properties’.
        
      • 
        Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box
        ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select Windows 8 operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.
        

If the issue still persists, I would suggest you to get in touch with the game manufacturer if it’s specific to that particular game.

Can't run game RTK X on Windows 10 64bit
