Windows 10: Gaming Services Button disappearing and also not working.

I have previously followed the instructions from another Question Link here https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/install-button-on-gaming-services-doesnt-show/8243cb8b-cef9-4ca4-bf29-1ec74c244efc?auth=1 and it did not work. If anyone could help me it would be much appreciated. I am trying to play Forza Horizon 5 and every time I go to Launch it, it sends me to the Microsoft store web page for gaming services. Start Button displaying but not working


The start button was working until there was a forced reboot (power failure). Then left click (normal click) over the start button does absolutely nothing. Right click brings up a menu but "programs" and also "settings" are missing and not included on this list. Search or Task View buttons do not work either with "normal" click. Does anyone have any suggestion or fixes?

Search service not working (windows 10 pro)

My search service does not work at all - the reason seems to be "wrong data directory permissions". I tried all of the above methods without success.

What do I do now?

Method 1:

I suggest you to run the search and indexing troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps:

  Right click on the Start button and click on
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on the Indexing Options.
  
• 
  Click on the Troubleshoot search and indexing.
  

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

I suggest you to start the Windows Search Service.

Follow the below steps:

• • 
    Press Windows key + R from the Keyboard.
    
  • 
    Type services.msc and hit Enter.
    
  • 
    Search for Windows Search.
    
  • 
    Double click on Windows Search and click on
    Start button.
    
  • 
    Click on the dropdown list and set the Startup type to
    Automatic.
    

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 3:

I suggest you to manually select the location in the Indexing options and check.

Follow the below steps:

• 
  Right click on the Start button and select
  Control Panel.
  
• 
  Click on Indexing Options and click on
  Modify button.
  
• 
  Under Change selected locations check mark all the locations.
  
• 
  Click on Ok and check if it works.
