    Gap between icons in system tray


    Hello,I'm having trouble with a very annoying quirk in Windows 10. Below is a screenshot of my notification area on the taskbar with only the clock and power icons selected. The spacing looks normal and this is ultimately what I want, albeit with all icons that I want to show up. However, if I try enabling the other icons I find useful, notice the gap that is created between the clock and the rest of the icons. Not only does the first icon I selected disappear, there's that unsightly gap. If I try to add more icons, the behaviour is the same:What I've tried, with restarts between eachGap between icons in system tray :Disk Cle

    Windows 10 System Tray gaps

    I'm on Windows 10 Home, upgraded to build 1607. Perhaps unrelated, but now there appears to be a gap in the system tray area of the task bar which either randomly duplicates the left-most icon (usually Defender), though both icons wont be active, or leaves
    it as a gap which shows the desktop. Changing to show only some icons or all icons makes no difference, I've tried system scans, again no resolution. I've unlocked the task bar and tried moving the bars, it looks as though the system thinks there is one more
    icon in system tray than there actually is. can anyone help?

    That would assume there is a bug with the taskbar. Prior to this build of Windows 10 I never had this issue, the taskbar and system tray icons were functioning correctly. Now there is a gap and duplicate icons appearing.

    How to recover hidden icon in System tray on Windows 10?

    Hi Callum,

    As you are facing issues with un-hiding the icon in System tray, we will help you with this issue.

    Do let us know which is the icon you have deleted from the system tray for better assistance?

    I suggest you to try the below steps to add the icons to Taskbar and check if it helps.

    • Press Windows key, click on Settings.
    • Click on System> Notifications & actions.
    • Click on Select which icons appear on taskbar (to select the icons that appear on Taskbar)
      and also click on Turn system icons on or off
