The title pretty much covers everything but I'm looking for a way to switch the primary account on my old gaming PC.I purchased a new gaming PC and it came with Windows 11. Now I have two Windows licenses on my Microsoft account. I would like to move one of them to my old PC but under my wifes Microsoft account. We do not want to reset as there are many files on there that are gaming related that apply to the games she plays as well. I do believe that the old PC has a Windows serial that I bought from a store, not from an OEM. What are my options? I simply want to add her account as the main a

    Remove account

I suggest you backup your personalized files first before removing the account.
To delete an account, follow these steps:
    1. Press WIN + X keys and click Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.
    2. Type the following command and press Enter. Replace test with the name of your sister's account. Code:

Change Microsoft Account Details in Administrator Account

Hi Daryl, welcome to the Ten Forums.

It's quite easy in fact, simply switch the account in question first to a local account, then switch back to a Microsoft account, this time using your wife's MS account credentials.

    Tutorials:
Notice that before doing this you need to remove the new additional MS account on the PC, the one you created with her credentials. Windows allows only one user account for each email address, if the new account exists you cannot switch the original administrator account to an MS account using the same email address. can no longer log in to first account after another account added on Windows 11

    Dear MrM Perth

    Welcome to Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are currently unable to log on to your computer using your wife's Microsoft account. According to your description, your wife's Microsoft account has successfully logged in to the computer before and was working fine. However, after adding your Microsoft account, you are unable to log into the system using your wife's Microsoft account.

To prevent me from misunderstanding your situation, I also need to confirm the following information with you:

    • Did you switch accounts by clicking on the Start-Account avatar?
    • Did the error occur after you switched accounts?
    • Is your wife's Microsoft account a personal account or a school or educational account?
Before that, let's make the most basic attempt.

    • Please click the link and enter your wife's Microsoft account and password to see if you can successfully log in to the account management screen.
    • Please check if your wife's Microsoft account can be removed in Settings - Accounts - Other Users. If it can be removed, please try to re-add your wife's Microsoft account in Settings - Accounts - Other Users - Add Users after removing it.
Please share the information with me as this will determine our next steps.

We look forward to your reply.
