Windows 10: Gears of War 4 - crashing to desktop after splash / loading screen windows 10

bought gears of war 4 from the windows store, I launch the game and it'll go through the initial splash screen,reach the ubisoft logo, and then it'll show the bottom right cog wheel loading symbol spin, stop, and then my game crashes to desktop. I have gears of war 5 on steam and that game runs perfectly.


I've tried reinstalling the game

I've tried restarting with a clean boot

I've tried wsreset.exe in command prompt with admin

I've tried terminating and reseting the gears 4 app

I've tried downloading a free windows store game, launching it and then launching gears 4

I've tried checking/updating the windows store

I've tried checking/updated windows

I've restarted multiple times

I've updated my nvidia drivers

I've tried switching windows user accounts/emails

I've tried logging in and out of my windows account

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the xbox app

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling windows store app

I've tried scanning for malware/viruses

I've ran ram memory tests


I've probably tried other methods that I just can't think of off the top of my head.


I ran event viewer to see the error, all I got was probably the broadest error in existence.

Gears of War 4 Going to Splash Screen then Not doing anything

When I launch gears of war 4 just like the other people complaining here it goes to splash screen and doesn't go any further. No exe is showing in the processes. I have literally tried everything in the troubleshooting list, I have reinstalled the game
4x, it is a fresh copy of windows. I am absolutely frustrated beyond belief. This is a microsoft title that doesn't work on windows 10 because the windows store is worthless. I have never gone to such lengths to get a game to work, this would never happen
on steam. That being said I don't know what else I can do.

 

Gears of War 4 PC instant crash

What are you doing about issues on Gears of War 4 (PC).

The last few months have been dire with the update and now i come to start my game and it crashes before it can even get going.

I get the gears of war in red with the black screen then crash back to desktop.

You can't keep blaming Nvidia drivers when the rest o the games on the world play.

It's not like you're a 2 but company, don't give support like you are.
