    anyway, my issue is device manager says can not enable-start the 8400gs till i reboot pc.
    It always says this even after many reboots.

    So I installed from nvidia download and installer has hung on shadow play.

    What do I do?

    Why do I have directx 10 on a fresh install of windows 10?

    If I install a new pci graphics card, say a Geforce 8400 gs that supports directx 10, will it update?

    Force a reanalysis of hardware for win 10 compatibility

    I have upgraded by PC (win 7 pro 64bit) with a compatible video card (GeForce 8400 GS) and uninstalled old video on MB but compatibility analysis still says incompatible with Win 10. How do I force a reanalysis?

    Problem solved. I opened task manager and killed the nvidia driver install.
    Then rebooted. Device manager shows good, card in use, and nvidia control panel works.
