Windows 10: Geforce driver breaks fresh install of windows from OEM disk.

I have been trying to reinstall windows 10 for the past couple of days. Every time I reach the desktop it installs the nvidia driver automatically but this renders my desktop unusable. Programs start but the window stays hidden no matter what. Very few things actually work. I can navigate settings but not much else. I tried disabling automatic driver updates but this doesn't work anyway. I also tried installing an older driver version but the same thing still happens. Im guessing it requires an update but this doesn't seem to be possible because the driver will automatically install no matter what and I can't even see the login screen. Any suggestions?

If you having an issue installing a driver that worked before you formatted or wont install on a fresh build, sometimes this means hardware damage

"Flavors" of Windows licenses

Windows can be a little "odd" about license keys. There are at least 4 categories:

• Retail
• OEM
• Volume (electronic download)
• Corporate (no key needed)

For guaranteed success, the license key and media should be in the same category. If you have retail media, you may not be able to install it using an OEM or Volume license key, even though the key is valid for that version of Windows. *Wtf :wtf: Apparently, this is part of Microsoft's anti-piracy scheme (i.e., all customers are guilty until proven innocent).

Step 1
reinstall windows from scratch
Step 2
install all drivers from the cd that came with the god damn motherboard *common sense*
Step 3
update windows
Step 4
install misc etc crap like flash java etc etc
Step 5
Install GPU drivers
Step 6
go back to using your pc without issue.
