Windows 10: Generate Battery Usage Report in Windows 10

Ok. I just wanted to make sure the command was entered correctly to rule that out. It is now, so that's not the issue.

Just to verify, is the command being ran on a PC with a battery?

 

Correct. My reason for being here is a new battery purchased for the laptop which is not operating properly. The battery that is. Keeps showing odd charging times & time remaining was way off. While charging would say 3 & 1/2 hours to charge, then would say fully charged 20 mins later. Or while discharging would say 5.5 hours left, impossible. & then 90 mins later dead. I laid it aside a couple days ago - said fully charged, but I don't think it was because yesterday upon waking from sleep it was almost completely drained.

BIOS indicates the battery is OK. I did uninstall/reinstall the drivers. I also removed the battery, held the power button to drain residual elec & reinserted the battery. Bought a new charger, the other was pretty old & heavily used. Did not help.
Want to make sure it's not my PC before RMA new battery.

 

Yeah, it does sounds like there may be an issue with the battery after what you described. Especially since you ruled out the charger.

Of course 15 minutes later it read fully charged.

Will do. Suppose I'll hold off on the refresh til the new battery arrives. This old Latitude D630 absolutely rocks on Windows 10! No problems at all. Runs better than it did on Windows 7. Came with Vista. It's a dinosaur but we like it.
