    Generation 2 VM boot loader can not find an operating system after mounted iso


    Latitude 7650 Intel 135U with windows 11 24H2Generation 2 VM boot loader can not find an operating system after mounted isotried disabled secure boot and remove ethernet card and boot from dvd drive iso first.But still show UEFI summary can not bootpress Esc, F2, F12, but no response, still show UEFI summary iso is windows 11 22H2 generated from microsoft tool and able to mount as E drive and content same as official dvd.expect to use total memory encryption multi key for this VM

    Error when mounting ISO files

    Hi,



    Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.



    I understand when you are trying to delete/rename/move the ISO files after mounting it you get an error message. It could be possible that the ISO file is mounted and that is the reason you are unable to modify it.



    I suggest you to eject the ISO file and then try to modify it. Please follow the steps mentioned below:



    1. Press Windows key + E, to open
      File Explorer      .
    2. Click on This PC on the left pane, you will find the mounted ISO file.
    3. Right click on the ISO file and click on Eject. Try modifying the ISO file now.

    mount an ISO at boot?


    Did you see this list of pages?
    mount .iso from command prompt at DuckDuckGo
    I haven't tried doing it yet but looks like it may be possible.

    How do I remove the Linux Boot Loader?

    You don't actually uninstall a boot loader but replace it with another.

    You cannot get Ubuntu to start on a Windows' boot loader, it needs to be GRUB (or an open source equivalent).

    Any ways, to get the Windows' boot loader back up, you need to insert your WIN7 installer disk and select the repair option>startup repair. I am assuming the WIN7 will use a similar setup menu as VISTA.

    After that, just format the partition/disk that ubuntu is on...
