Windows 10: generic/text only printer driver for windows 11

Discus and support generic/text only printer driver for windows 11 in Windows 10 Gaming to solve the problem; This is another familiar and useful Windows feature that's missing in Windows 11.     GENERIC/TEXT ONLY PRINTER DRIVER FOR WINDOWS 10

    We are having MASSIVE problems with Windows 10 Generic/Text Printer drivers.

    We have a huge client base out there using DOT MATRIX printers. Because DEVICE fonts are so much faster than TrueType fonts, we use the Generic/Text driver and send RAW text to the printer. Some clients have upgraded to Windows 10 and one by one their printers
    stopped printing. It seems like the Generic/Text driver in Windows 10 no longer supports RAW printing. Why this change?

    We are DESPERATE for a solution and have been spending considerable amounts of money trying to find a solution. So far the only solution was to downgrade those clients back to Windows 7, or to print in GRAPHICS mode, which the clients HATE because it is
    incredibly SLOW...

    Has anyone found an answer to the problem yet?

    Generic/Text Driver deletes with Updates

    We install the Star receipt printer, it assigns a USB port (USB 001 usually) When we install the Generic text, we install it to use that same port So they are sharing the USB001.

    The star printer can also be shown under unidentified printers and still work with the Generic Text. This happens because even though the printer is showing as unidentified, it STILL assigns a USB Print driver and port.

    The Generic Text driver is the bridge between the printer and whatever POS Software you are using.

    Most POS Software cannot use a receipt printer without the Generic Text. Therefore every time Windows does a MAJOR update, and removes the G/T Driver on it's own it causes a tech support nightmare!

    win10 sez no drivers for brither hl5040 printer  

    To be sure that you followed my suggestion correctly, I will specify some steps:
    CP>devices and printers>add a printer>the printer that I want isn't listed>add a local printer with manual settings>define port>Windows update and install
