Windows 10: Get a copy of an activation key already purchased.

I bought, from the Microsoft Store, an upgrade from Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Pro in May of 2019. It worked. However, I had to reinstall Windows on my system, and I'm back to 10 Home. As my email is messed up, I no longer have the Product Key. I viewed my account online, and found the Order number and data, but no product key. How can I get this without going through a gauntlet of robots and phone operators and spelling out accounts and emails phonetically and getting bad routes due to these? Is there a live chat or somewhere I can email? I already got a "Case Number" and was told to call back and give it, but the phone robot won't let ne give it.

Activation and Purchasing Win10?


Hi all,

I have some questions here below regarding Activation.

1. If I insert a new hard drive on my notebook and then reinstall Win10, will Win10 still be activated or do I have to purchase another copy of Windows with a different product key for reactivation?
On my old hard drive, I did a clean install of Win10.

General question regarding Clean Install and Activation of Win10

2. As far as my original Win10 installation went, I purchased a copy of Win10 DVD and used the Media Creation Tool to make a USB bootable stick. Then, when I installed Win10, I entered the product key from the Win10 DVD sticker and then I activated it online. So basically, I never had to insert the DVD.
Is this the overall general practice for users who want to clean install Win10?

In other words, reading from the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool webpage, it does require users to enter a Product Key. So in this case like me, do people have to go out and purchase a Win10 DVD in order to get the product key and only just use the Media Creation Tool to install Windows?

Activate single language edition with multi language key?


I downloaded the Win10 Home single language ISO for a clean install on a new build PC and skipped the activation step during install. Now I need to activate. If I purchase a copy of Windows 10 Home in store or digitally, will I be able to use the product key in my current install without need to re-install?

I tried to phone MS support about this and they were utterly useless!

Thank you for posting your reply.

I suggest you to activate the copy of Windows via phone by following the steps below:

• Press “Windows key + R” and type “slui 4” and press Enter.
• Select your Region/Country.
• Select the Phone Activation option, and hold on for a real person.
