Windows 10: Get lenovo battery gauge on dell laptop

Hi! I know that this is an odd question, but is there any way to get the lenovo battery gauge on a dell laptop. I am on an latitude e5550. The reason why I am asking this is because after updating my laptop's windows 10 install, the battery meter disappeared.

Do you have a Lenovo PC/Laptop?

If so, this is a common enough error and is caused by Lenovo vantage Toolbar

Task bar - Battery Gauge Toolbar disappearing when autohide is on

Did that driver update and says that the MS ACPI compliant control method battery driver is up to date.

This is a Lenovo Battery Gauge Toolbar that i am talking about, not the Microsoft battery icon. Does that driver have anything to do with the Lenovo Battery Gauge Toolbar?? I have no issue when the taskbar is there. Only an issue when
i set taskbar to autohide. So Lenovo needs to make this Battery tool bar work when task bar is on autohide. Autohide comes back and the bat tool bar is gone - the lenovo one, not the Microsoft battery gauge..that is fine.

 

battery not charging on Lenovo laptop Windows 10

First thing first. Not charging is vague term, is it at 0% and not charging? Please give more info. The reason why I am asking is because Lenovo has a app on majority of their laptops called Lenovo Vantage. In this app one can configure how their battery
charges.

Does someone else use this Laptop? Is it managed by a corporation or by your work place?

I my self used this app to configure my Lenovo ThinkPad battery to stop charging at 60%, and start charging when under 55%,(when plugged in) as computers with lower battery charge when plugged in have their batteries last longer. Unfortunately Windows does
not detect this properly, and thus displays it as if the laptop is still charging. There is a option in Lenovo Vantage to see Lenovo's own battery level icon. This one actually shows something more accurate. Please check in Lenovo Vantage has the battery
charge limit cap turned on for extending a battery lifetime.

If it is turned on and your battery is currently somewhere between the start charging and stop charging percentage levels, there is nothing to worry about. It is known that when this setting is turned on, the charging light on the device when between these
two levels may stay on or may not show(but would show when it reaches the the start charging threshold limit. Also note that on the Lenovo Vantage app it says that if the setting is enabled that one should do a battery gauge reset after some period of time.

If the setting is off and you are still facing issues, open the Lenovo Vantage app, and under hardware, then battery, there should be a sub section that says "Battery Gauge reset", and there is a button that says Reset. NOTE that Lenovo has recently updated
the app, in the updated version the setting is located under My Device Settings (which is found in the My Device Drop down menu), the first tab is Power, and the subsection for battery gauge reset will be in that tab. Please save your work before doing this,
and also do this when you do this at a time when you will not be using the device as according to Lenovo Vantage the Laptop will fully discharge, then recharge, then fully discharge again.

If the issue is not solved, and the Lenovo laptop has a removable battery, go to the Lenovo website and check to see if they still sell a replacement battery.
