Windows 10: get rid of M365 Copilot app on desktops

Hi Microsoft, this horrible app gets installed automatically, even after uninstalling for all users and it wastes the taskbar as well. How to get rid of this clearly unwanted and annoying app it is a kind of scareware to us on desktops for all users permantly? Please write down a comprehensive and working instruction.

Copilot randomly got removed from taskbar options.

There are multiple versions of Copilot

- Copilot Consumer (used to be Bing?)

- Copilot for Windows 11 (the app in Windows 11, used to allow Commercial Data Protection when used with a E3 or higher license)

- Copilot for M365

We recently lost the ability to use the Windows 11 Copilot app with a M365 Copilot add on. It appears that you cannot have Copilot M365 in the taskbar any more, you have to use the browser to access it.

Copilot M365 offers commercial data protection, whereas the personal Copilot does not. There used to be a specific configuration you could use to ensure you were using the "right" Copilot but it seems Microsoft has opted to separate the Copilot M365 out and not allow its use via the Windows 11 Copilot App (need to confirm this via the documentation).

Has anyone else seen this or have contrary information?

 

Are There Multiple Versions of Microsoft 365 Copilot?

I'm seeking information on Microsoft 365 Copilot and its versions. Is there more than one version of M365 Copilot, each supporting different M365 modules, and differing in price? Some say there's a comprehensive version for all M365 apps and a limited version for specific apps.

Can anyone confirm this and provide details on the differences?
