Windows 10: Get the Search Box back in the task bar - Win 10, Build 1909

The search bar disappeared on my desktop and replaced with just a magnifying glass. I prefer to have the taskbar with the search box as shown in this picture.


Right clicking on the taskbar, I no longer find a "search" link. Going to Settings > Personalization > Taskbar has no method of getting it back.


I do not want to use Contana which is very annoying, particularly on a desktop and have removed that from the desktop. It too just showed a magnifying glass.

guys am new user to windows 10, i just upgraded my pc to 10 today win 8.1. but now i misses search box in task bar. actually i heard there is task bar in win 10 task bar but in my case there's no search box... help me

Now check if you are able to find search box.

- Are you using desktop mode or tablet mode?

If you are using desktop mode and facing this issue I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps:

1. Right on the task bar and select
Cortana.

2. Click on Show search bar.

Check if this helps.

If you are on tablet mode, the search bar will not appear.
