Windows 10: Getting a BSOD with this error: The bugcheck was: 0x00000154

BSOD 0x0000007e and 0x00000154

recently i got two BSOD on my laptop with the following error code:

0x0000007e

0x00000154

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000154 (0xffffd185eddf3000, 0xffffcc816677e590, 0x0000000000000002, 0x0000000000000000). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 7e0f58c9-9865-4e4f-bcf8-599dec4f11b8.

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x0000007e (0xffffffffc0000005, 0xfffff8072d72aa20, 0xfffff50339e1e688, 0xfffff50339e1dec0). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 39c382a8-e978-4225-97d6-b085e0eb2dfe.

How can i fix these BSOD?

Event log shows a lot of disk retries:








As you can see, the most recent was today.

Open a Elevated Command Prompt and run the following commands:

diskpart
list disk
list vol
exit

Right click on the Command Prompt title bar and select Edit then Select all.
Repeat and select Edit then Copy.

HDD TEST

Run HDTune to

• check the health,
• scan for errors, not quick scan but full scan
• run a benchmark.

Run CrystalDiskInfo Portable and CrystalDiskMark Portable to

• Check health of drive
• Check performance of drive

You can also try the various options available with chkdsk.

 

BSOD - Bugcheck 0x00000154 - Windows 10 Enterprise

Dear All,

We have multiple laptops with the same model (Dell E7270) that started to show BSOD with Bugcheck error 0x00000154. Tried to analyze the dump file in WinDbg, it shows the module name "hardware disk". if its only one laptop, I could assume that there is an
issue with the SSD or the firmware. But since its happening on multiple laptops, there should be another reason.
