Getting an error that says the specified network password is not correct when trying to connect to a MAP drive or FTP even when my password is correct

Why the specified network password is not correct?


Why the specified network password is not correct? My password is CORRECT!! It's a good password and the only password used on these computers. When I try to network from my win 10 laptop to win 10 desktop I get this error message? I went to Control Panel Networking and troubleshooted and it said I didn't have permission to network. Yet I had no trouble when I was working the same computers in win 8.1 and win 7. There has been no change in networking procedure in win 10 which worked well in win 7 and 8.1.

I get a similar list. If I'm interpreting it correctly, it shows that the C:, P: and R: drives on the laptop are shared (but strangely not the D: drive, even though "Properties" shows that it's shared); and that the same drives (including the D: drive) on the desktop are shared.

The sharing is what I had set up, with the exception of the missing laptop D: drive. But while everything else seems ok, I still get the wrong-password error when I try to map a laptop drive - such as the P: drive - from the desktop.
