Windows 10: Getting back a permanently deleted OneDrive folder?

Hi, so I've been struggling on storage on my laptop so I was looking at what's taking up the most space on my disc. It showed that it was users -> my account -> OneDrive. Thinking that this folder was just a copy of whatever I have on my laptop, I deleted it. A message popped up that the folder is too big to put in the bin and do I want to delete it permanently. I unfortunately clicked yes not knowing it would delete all the stuff I had on my laptop. So I open my file explorer and the whole section of Documents and Images are gone, not just the content of it. My OneDrive wasn't synchroni

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Based on your description, we suggest that you can do it all over again as follows:

• Open OneDrive settings on your computer.
  
• Go to the "Accounts" tab and click on "Unlink this computer".
  
• Restart your computer.
  
• Delete the D:/OldOneDrive folder.
  

You can try renaming the old OneDrive folder to something else, then create a new OneDrive folder and set it as a local folder in the OneDrive app.

If the above does not work, then you can try the following steps:

• Open a "Command Prompt" on your computer (run as administrator).
  
• Type rd /s /q "D:\OldOneDrive" and press Enter.
  

This will delete the "OldOneDrive" folder and all its contents.

• Create a new folder in D:/ and name its OneDrive.
  
• Open the OneDrive application and log in.
  
• During the setup process, choose to change the OneDrive folder location to D:/OneDrive.
  

Please note that this will permanently delete the "OldOneDrive" folder and all its contents, so please ensure that you have backed up all your important data.

OneDrive Personal Vault corrupt on Windows 11 Error Code: 0x8004100e

I already did that. A couple of times. Most recently, as follow-on steps to your recommendation to delete my Personal Vault permanantly:

1. Followed your steps to permanently delete Personal Vault on OneDrive web
   
2. On my laptop:
   
   1. Disabled OneDrive backups
      
   2. Unlink this PC
      
   3. Uninstalled OneDrive application
      
   4. Deleted OneDrive folder
      
   5. Rebooted
      
   6. Reinstalled OneDrive
      
   7. Logged back in and retried Personal Vault - same error
