Windows 10: Getting BSOD after NVME M2 drive install

Hope you can help, until today I had a system that was working pretty much flawlessly. I bought an Adata XPG SX8200 Pro M.2 drive - I installed it into my motherboard's 2nd M2 slot and that's when everything went wrong. I started getting random BSOD errors, ranging from 'kernel check security failures' to memory management stop codes too.


I've tried:- clean installs, memcheck, taking out memory sticks, taking out the new M2 drive, updating windows, updating BIOS, updating drivers and everything seems to produce a BSOD - sometimes it's instant after boot, sometimes it only comes after an hour into Overwatch (where I get an "Overwatch has crashed the graphics driver" error)


I'm at my wits end as before I installed this M2 drive, it was fine but nothing seems to fix these constant errors. Please help!

Installing Windows 10 on an M2 SSD drive - will it work? Any tips?

No need to worry, installing Windows 10 onto an M2 or NVMe M2 drive is no different to installing Windows 10 onto an ordinary drive, the same process applies . . .

 

Western Digital Black pcie nvme m2 ssd support in Windows 7 install

Hi, am trying to install a fresh copy of Windows 7 x64 onto a new build desktop that has a WD Black pcie nvme m2 ssd. From digging around online I've found that normally this drive is easily installed on Windows 8 and above machines without any hassle
but of course Windows 7 doesn't natively support them. There must be a work around to add drivers into the install USB to get round this??

All of the links provided supplied very helpful and useful information, and, although I learned very much from them, they did not help in the slightest.

I believe I had a corrupted SSD card.

What did work flawlessly was this;

New M.2 SSD NVMe card (same exactly)

Download EaseUS Partition Manager FREE (yes, not a trial version) vers. 13 IMPORTANT

CLONE drive (not partition) to SSD

I had previously tried a clone with an earlier version of Part Mngr and although that worked to some degree, there were corruptions.

Also notable is that the m2 was installed on a add-in adapter card and the system was cloned on a mainboard that did not natively support M2
