Windows 10: Getting BSOD nvlddmkm.sys error

I’ve been getting the blue screen nvlddmkm.sys error for a while now after updating my graphics driver to the latest driver posted by Nvidia, it doesn’t occur while I’m playing games. When I downgrade the driver to an old version I lose fps in games, is there a fix to this or do I have to wait for a new driver update?

I already ran sfc scannow yesterday, as well as DISM checkhealth, neither returned error. I didn't run DISM restorehealth or chkdsk though, is it still needed?

Btw I'm not getting any BSOD's or any windows problems, only issue is game is freezing and crashing.

 

Getting BSOD 0x124 error

Ignore what everone said here.

0x124 BSOD is usually related to VCCIO (VTT), run Prime95 version 26.6 with custom sizes of 512K to 640K with 50% of your memory for at least 8 hours.

If you get a 0x124 BSOD, increase VCCIO voltage by small steps, run Prime95 again until your stable.

If you pass Prime95 512K to 640K without a BSOD, then its Vcore too low. I'd suggest running IntelBurnTest with 80% of your memory to verify stability (8 to 12 hours).

Oh, and yeah, if this problem appeared all of the sudden, the reason is CPU degradation, you can prevent it by enabling C-States or adjust your overclock to use lower voltages.

1) Run Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
At least 8 runs

2) run administrative command prompt:
sfc /scannow
dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
chkdsk /x /f /r
For the chkdsk it will require a reboot and may take many hours. Plan to run it overnight.
To view the chkdsk results run administrative command prompt or powershell: get-winevent -FilterHashTable @{logname="Application"; id="1001"}| ?{$_.providername –match "wininit"} | fl timecreated, message | out-file Desktop\CHKDSKResults.txt
