Windows 10: Getting BSOD on Lenovo C940IIL laptop

I am recently getting a lot of BSOD errors on Windows 11. Earlier I felt it is about high temperature, since BSOD used to happen consistently in couple of minutes after boot when my machine used to hit consistent 90%+ CPU usage with temperature being 90C+.I started using fan below laptop and it did not BSOD. Then, I reduced Max Power State to reduce CPU usage and BSOD did not happen immediately after boot, even I remove the fan, possibly since the temperature gets limited to 60C. However, it still happens sometimes. I am guessing if the temperature am monitoring is of CPU, while some other c

Lenovo Laptop BSOD

Hello,

My Lenovo Laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 3) is getting random BSOD errors.

After not turning it on for some time (like a week or so) it goes back to normal (no BSOD) but after using it for like 3-4 hours it starts to get BSODs again.

The OS is Windows 11 23h2.

Multiple 0x0000009c BSODs on Windows 10 Lenovo Laptop

Symptoms:

• Windows 10 Pro BSODs randomly (after freezing). I have almost 12 identical dumps (attached).
• There seems to be no pattern to it but sometimes it happens when the machine is idle.
• The machine just hangs and then eventually reboots -- most of the time I don't even see a BSOD screen, it just goes from a frozen screen to reboot and the dump is generated.

Steps Taken With No Success:

• Ran full memtest with no issues.
• Clean Windows reinstall.
• Changed from HDD to Crucial SSD.
• Updated BIOS and drivers to what I think are the latest (manufacturer website).

Important System Characteristics:

• Lenovo Z70 laptop with dual Intel 5500 and nVidia GeForce 840M graphics cards
• Virtualization technology is turned on in BIOS in order to run virtual machines
• The BSODs stopped for a good while and then started up again quite frequently lately. I haven't been able to pinpoint any changes in how I use the machine.

Most of the dumps seem to point to intelppm.sys --I'm not sure where to go from here.I have attached the output of the information DM log collector. I have gone through all the files and sanitized them to remove any sensitive personal information (according to me) but that shouldn't affect the integrity of the information.

 

Getting BSOD 0x124 error

Ignore what everone said here.

0x124 BSOD is usually related to VCCIO (VTT), run Prime95 version 26.6 with custom sizes of 512K to 640K with 50% of your memory for at least 8 hours.

If you get a 0x124 BSOD, increase VCCIO voltage by small steps, run Prime95 again until your stable.

If you pass Prime95 512K to 640K without a BSOD, then its Vcore too low. I'd suggest running IntelBurnTest with 80% of your memory to verify stability (8 to 12 hours).

Oh, and yeah, if this problem appeared all of the sudden, the reason is CPU degradation, you can prevent it by enabling C-States or adjust your overclock to use lower voltages.
