Windows 10: getting cd to download

how do you go about downloading cds in this windows ten montrosity? i amm not interested in having them in one of the stupid apps that come with this mess. i want them in a music folder where i can burn them onto different cds

For you to get the CD Burn option in share command, you need to download a CD burning application from Windows store. Once you download the CD burning application, it will automatically give you an option under share command.

Windows Media Player won't rip after Windows 10 download

I downloaded windows 10 last week and now cannot rip cds. I get a box that says "Window Media Player cannot rip one or more track from the CD" no matter what cd I put in the CD burner.

 

It works the same way it did in Win7/Win8.1. What problem are you encountering?

 

Downloading from where? The Internet? To where? A folder on your PC? What are you downloading ISO's, MP3's?

I'm thinking the term "Downloading" may have been miss used. Likely should have been ripping or burning maybe.

 

More details will help, but nothing has changed in how files are downloaded for the last few revisions of Windows. Then again, since the OP has clearly stated in many threads that Windows 10 is worthless, I'm sure that and Microsoft will be to blame.

 

that is it. i have cds that i have made, that i want to put into this laptop. when i try to do it, on the occassion that it will donwload anything, what goes on the laptop won't play without that cd in it.

 

i have found NO ONE, who knows anything, who has antthing good to say about windown 10

@Op.. If you're trying to rip a CD to a PC then there is lots of good free software to get this job done. Here's a sit that has a few listed and they are good.

If the OP is trying to rip A CD, Windows Media Player can do it. Right click near the top (in the light blue) and select tools/options/Rip Music. Select the "Format" drop down and choose your format.

To get track/album info from the 'net, on the options/Library tab, select "retrieve additional info from the internet"/
"only add missing information".

Insert the CD and dismiss any autoplay options.

Start WMP, select unknown album on the left, and "rip music" above/center. I tried it out, and by the time the third
track was being ripped, the CD, picture and track names were filled in. The rip can be found in
c:\Users\user_id\Music\artist_name\album
