Windows 10: Getting constant lag spikes during gaming and seemingly nothing will stop it.

This might turn into a rant, I’m not sure, but let’s get into this.

Let me first share my specs so you know what type of PC we’re dealing with here:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700K CPU @ 3.60 GHz RAM: 32 GB System Type: 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

All from a pre-built iBuyPower Gaming PC. Pretty slick.

And yet, stating a couple months ago, I have been getting constant lag spikes for seemingly no reason at all. I have searched online and tried asking my friends to no solution. I have seen my WiFi graph on Task Manager and it is sometimes really bad, but I’m not sure if it’s solely the WiFi.

Can anyone enlighten me on how to fix my situation please? Lag is killing my gaming experience and I have never experienced this much lag in the year and a half or so of owning this thing.

Lag spikes when playing online games

Hi,i have been experience constant lag spikes on online games .I opened task manager and found that my ethernet is not stable and spikes on online games .This get frustrated when i constantly receive attempt to reconnect in a game in every 10-30sec or

Hello, for the past 2 weeks or so I have been experiencing lag spikes that occur every 10-20 seconds. I am at a resting ping of about 45, but these lag spikes can range from 200-500 and last about a second. While these are manageable, they can also be
very frustrating while playing games (which is the only time they happen, or at least when the spikes are most noticeable). I play games on both xbox and PC, but I do not experience these lag spikes on xbox while playing, so that has led me to believe that
this is a windows issue rather than an internet issue. At first I thought it would be something that would just go away after a view days if it was an internet issue, but since it has been happening for a few weeks now I thought it would be a good time to
reach out. I have done a lot of research about this, and while many people have posted "solutions" none of them have seemed to work. Please help! Thank you!

 

Constant Widnows 10 lag spikes in games?

Thanks for the tip - this fixed it for me.

Tried all the other popular suggestions to no avail. Disabling location service eliminated the lag spikes during MWO and HoTS matches. I won't have to waste my time to revert back to Windows 8.1.
